FWIW I either cut the second loop off of most actual NATOs or buy single-pass to start with and use Hirsch springbars - top quality and very strong.
A NATO lover that doesnāt like actual NATOs?
Behind the faƧade is nothing but dirty little secretsā¦
I wear a nato because I donāt like buckles, clasps etc when Iām working at the bench. The way the armrests work on a watchmakers bench, it wonāt be long before it is annoying me to hell.
So I wear my nato ānormallyā but upside down. So all the crap is bunched up on the inside edge of the wrist not outside.
Most watchmakers I know take their watch off and put it on the bench with the bracelet arranged so it sits up at at angle like a bedside clock.

The 1016 Explorer is vintage, cool and expensive. (1961 to 1989)
Let me know if you get one of these in
Not a collector?
As far as that model is concerned a pie-in-the-sky- collector
There are only about 30 known to exist
Wow, I like another Rolex! That does look nice. I do like a lot of aged watches mind.
Oh yeah, helps if I actually read the dial
Iām loving this:
I love them, if only I had the wrists for them.
Thatās nice, and Iāve found I donāt usually bond with all-black watches.
I came dangerously-close to buying a carbon-cased/ceramic-bezel Formex recently, and may very well end-up regretting not doing so as itās sold-out now - this however would scratch both itches:
Nice. Never keen on blue but done like that I like it.
I really like the ceramic case and bracelet combo on that other one. Carbon is interesting but Iām not 100% sure.
Lighter, scratch resistant, wonāt crack if you drop it on a hard surface. That model is a bit big (44mm) for a watch that wears big - for once a 40mm would be pref.
There is a āfauxtinaā carbotech that is really jolly nice -
A bit cheaper, too. But still silly ££££.
Drop it?!
Good point actually. Every bastard thing is silly money (ok, not everything).
Have you bumped your head?
