Clocks on cocks (Part 1)

I’m sure I do the same :joy:

Again though it just makes me think of the lush enamel dial spring drives which are still presage but too expensive. Just love them.

If they were in this price bracket I definitely would.

To borrow a Browellism: “Spring Drive is a Meme”.

Holds no appeal for me at-all, and certainly not something I’d pay a premium for - I’d sooner pay-out for one of GS’ high-end quartz movements.

Bet they’re an expensive PITA to service, too.

I quite like the idea but if it had a cheaper movement it would be better for me.

Like you though I really shouldn’t own a dress watch. Thing is I’m actually drawn to a lot of stuff that I’d have no business wearing.

Worth paying a premium for Seikos Arita Porcelain dials imho…

I see these do a Chrono with a central minute counter. I like it.

I do have one dress watch - an Edox automatic moonphase, lovely thing that cost peanuts, it’s made it to two funerals in two years of ownership, so fully justifies its existence!

I tried to paint myself into a corner early on with “one watch to rule them all”, but there’s just too much nice Stuff  for that to have worked-out, so now I just try and keep things in control and not spend too much in one go unless something major is sold…

Ooooh! Not seen that before - that is Most Nice!

They also do a version with no pusher. You turn the crown to start and stop it! Innovative.

Clever stuff - really is the chronograph reduced to its absolute minimalist elements. Approve :ok_hand: Just a shame it’s inevitably so spendy…

It seems the no pusher is a different Chrono they do but I’ve already picked this one to go on my list never to buy.

Roman numerals on a white face…

Yeah, not much precedent for that…

ca. 1660

Fuck me that’s gopping.

Why_We_Can't_Have_Nice_Things

You can’t talk Roman numeral (I know it’s silver and not white!) without an original era Breguet.

Apparently it’s hideous.

I’ll take it off your hands - £50 should do it :ok_hand:

Have to charge more because it’s in good condition, £55?

(I didn’t polish that and it shows no signs of ever being polished inside. So that was done by hand before electricity ffs!)

I know it’s no Breguet, but I bloody love the IWC Inge SL pocket watch
