I’m loving the new Heuer 01 screens on the connect.
A nicely aged Sea dweller if you can afford the ‘Great White” sized bite out of your slush fund…
Rolex Sea-Dweller 'Great White' 1665 | Buy vintage Rolex Sea-Dweller watch – A COLLECTED MAN
Admittedly no box and papers with that one and maybe not the original bracelet, but not sure those are worth £13K
Not even on Watchfinder!
Some rather optimistic asking prices on there…
On where?
Link on my initial post above
No choice with GD.
And even less chance it’s a decision I’d ever have to make.
A little like agonising over ones preferred colour for an McLaren Speedtail
Waiting on this to arrive . . .
1966 Hamilton Dateline A580. Don’t expect it will ever increase in value as collectors really aren’t interested in the brand. But they are nice quality and I think it’s a pretty thing
That is very nice, much that is good about 60s style right there.
Hamiltons don’t generally make big numbers, they were mass-produced after-all, but good ones from that era will always find buyers provided they’re not too scruffy and not too tiny. Fashion is broadly moving slowly towards smaller watches now, which helps.
What really matters anyway is - will you enjoy wearing it? - it’s pretty dumb to look at watches as an investment, sucks all the pleasure out of it.
Yep, I never really consider re-sale when I “collect”. Buy what you like and you’ll never suffer remorse.
I also like the look of some of Hamilton’s Art Deco watches, but they are really tiny. I’d never wear them
It’s not about wearing The Shiny.
It’s about HAVING The Shiny.
What’s the asking price on a brand new Sea Dweller? Those vintage prices are ridiculous.
£9300 new, around £12500 second hand.
That’s three grand of authorised dealer ass kissing
There are lots of variations of the Sea Dweller.
Prices vary enormously. The one that Roger linked to is way overpriced
So whacking one on the credit card is a good call, if you can convince an AD to sell you one.
