Started the crossovers.
Sensible layout
Looks almost as heavy as the speakers!
Sadly at work we have very little room for any more machines
Would be be nice to have a biggish cnc mill but have a manual centec and a Tom senior elsewhere
Luckily we do have a little cnc milll coming soon same as this,so will be perfect to learn on.
Where are the chokes from Edd?
Falcon.
You need to reverse the red/black terminals on one. They’re setting my ocd off.
I know, by the time I realised I had a severe case of the cant be bothereds.
Looks like a nice little milling machine.
Cool
Went to the dentist today and it turns out that they have a little CNC mill for making tooth implants - sitting in the waiting room.
They ushered me out before I got the chance to ask if I could use it for some of my projects.
I had to have a crown redone a few years back. Previously, it had involved several visits, taking moulds, test fittings, etc. Pain in the arse.
The new way was to do it on the day - basically laser scan the tooth area, select a crown in CAD to match my teeth and then start machining a piece of ceramic in the CNC mill. I went shopping while the machining happened, then couple of hours later came back for test fitting. Adjust by hand and then it goes in the kiln. Another break, then come back and get it glued on.
Pretty cool stuff, the dentist reckoned about £80k for the equipment, but meant it could all be done in one day.
The price was also less than the previous crown it replaced.
How much Pete?
ROI one month.
£530
Hmm, think I’ll see if there’s a dentist in Sheffield that does them. I’ve got to have a crown replaced because of decay beneath it and my chap is quoting £785 for a gold one.
I recently paid 275
Happy to have go at making teeth at work
£100 each from Delrin or £150 each out of phosphorus bronze
