Rough back plate made out of Ali before whole cover is made
I’m probably going end up making my own jmlc horns
The labour of love is finished other than some engraving on top
18 months or so from scratch build*
I had nothing to do with it
At least it was quicker than Rabski’s 300B amp build* (or my music room conversion)
*The Sphinx was built quicker than that btw.
The clamp needs grey
I can get grey light and dark.
Of late using the cnc machine had been a bit of a struggle. Between issues with the Z axis, then blowing up two vacuums. So I bought a new vacuum and a cyclone dust separator.
I put the separator on a plastic bucket, which promptly imploded causing a massive dust cloud
I’ve put it in on metal bin now. The kids are really into Warhammer at the moment so as a little project made some scenery.
I might even be able to get back to making horns soon
This weekends project an armboard for a Technics SL1210 mk5.
Looks great in Black corian.
Now I’ve got it worked out could make one for most arms retrofitted to a Techy.
Lovely job Tim.
That looks ace
Still working on the cad skills. Decided to draw up the Land Rover plans from an old wood working book my Dad had. Blizzard’s Wooden Toys.
Might have to make a couple, portable Bluetooth speaker maybe?
What software are you using?
Fusion 360.
I’ve got a “student” copy of Rhino 3D, fuck it is complicated.
Would need to spend months on it full time to get somewhere useful.
The modelling aspect I am nearly there with.
Doing it in the right way so that it’s easily editable is still tricky.
Taking the various parts and then getting the cnc machine to cut them out right? That’s where I struggle a bit right now.
Fusion has cam built in, but it’s hard work and likes to make my machine crash.
Noice👍
