Cocks on clocks (Part the Second)

Agreed, it’s a real gem of price vs completion and quality. Less money gets you a lot less and it takes a lot more money to get qualitative and quantitatively more.

The only - very minor - frustration is that it’s not also an annual calendar, but then again that also means you don’t need a PhD to set it correctly…

My minor frustration is that I wish the date indicator hand, was stainless with just a blue crescent tip.

As the whole hand is blue, between it, the chrono seconds and the minute hand, at certain times of day it all gets a bit “crowded”.

As my other half would say…

“Is it moon past Sunday o clock yet”

But then, I use my phone to tell the time

You are dead to me. :raised_hand:

I used a Duoface as my daily for many years since I was travelling all the time and the standard face was left on UK time and I just turned it over whilst abroad and set the hour hand appropriately with the pusher.
Only place it didn’t work was Oz where there was a 30 minute increment as well, but no dual time watch works then without adjustment.

Philistine, they are ALL nice looking although that one is particularly splendid.

Off to Goldsmiths on Saturday to pick up a new Explorer.

With some apologies that maternity leave meant they inadvertently dropped me off their radar and it has been delayed beyond my birthday!

It backs up my sentiment at the time I registered interest that the special occasion, being local, and being a genuine buyer did work with them.

Nice one Steve
I am sure it will be worth the wait!

Congrats.

Judging by the various watch forums availability of most models has leapt up in the last year or so. I’m 100% certain it’s nothing to do with the fact the grey market is now a lot slower and less profitable.

Oh no.

They have certainly had more subs as they offered me a list place for that recently. As in asked me to be on the list!

Nice one Steve,
Wear it in good health and I hope you enjoy the ownership as much as I have.
I don’t wear my best watches all the time but still get a buzz when I wear the Explorer.
Lovely thing.

Offered any watch I want as a list place now. Between the green dial sub and the blue gmt (possibly on jubilee for variety).

Any opinions? I like both and they are equally different. Both about two years wait which is perfect (and he’s actually said I’ll get one).

Either will be great, I have a std No Date Sub and heve been on a waitng list for a Batgirl (Black/blue on jubilee) for about 2 years.
My feeling is go for the GMT.
At least you know you will get one eventually.

GMT, it’s a genuine classic design, ushered in by the jet age and all that, still a useful function.
