Cocks on clocks (Part the Second)

Sinn 356 is one to consider… Valjoux movement.
For some reason can’t add pic …

They’ve (finally!) considerably expanded the range of models that the bracelet will fit, so for example, the DK37 with in-house movement -

…can now be ordered with a bracelet. The bracelet isn’t cheap, but conversely where else can you find an all-German made watch with a genuinely unique in-house movement and with a beautifully-engineered bracelet for well under £3K new?

I do like that but I just prefer the DK20 and DK30 with markers and no numbers. I suppose they’re seen as more dive oriented and they no longer do the bracelet in the submarine steel.

After buying a car there’s no way I should be looking at watches!

Edit: If I keep looking at that on the bracelet I’ll certainly take it (in principle). The simple looks and the build quality

Like that but at £3k I’d probably buy a secondhand IWC pilot instead.

I think I have narrowed down my Panerai desires to the PAM00510.

Surprisingly affordable.

If I was buying a Panerai that would be the type.

Although a neuro-spicy friend gets very exercised about “8 DAYS” instead of “8 GIORNI”

Sausage or sandwich?

Sandwich, manual wind, display back are the requirements.

Kinda prefer the later 8/3 day movements even though I know they are trouble vs the 6497.

Maybe because no one is buying them?
(Apart from you and @Gyroscope )

This is quite a balanced video

10/10 choice - definitive Panerai :ok_hand:

Giorni would be the preference, dunno if that’s a regional or model thing though.

Oh I don’t need a video. Very much a “fashion” watch from 20 years ago. And vastly over priced for what they are.

Doesn’t stop the want. Obviously the time to buy

I did,. I wasn’t aware of some of the movement controversies etc and some of the pitfalls of the s/h market.
Probably not pitfalls at all if you go in with eyes wide open and know what you are looking at :grinning:

Tell him it’s made in Neuchâtel, so should be “Huit Jours” anyway…

She calls out the size as the first factor, and that’s the problem for me - I quite like some of their designs like the one Guy posted, but their watches are too big on me.

My (female) boss has a smaller (presumably lady-size one) and it looks quite elegant.

My lady boss wears a 40mm too

My wrists are not quite as swole as they used to be when I did Judo regularly but I still don’t mind the 44mm or 47mm.

I bought a 321 when I had a bit of money and the wife talked me out of another UN. I saw one for a very good price and it ticked all my wants in a panerai plus it had a GMT complication which I’m a sucker for.
Initially I was a bit dubious and nearly returned it when I discovered an issue but had it repaired under warranty and now it’s one of my most worn watches.
I’m very tempted by a Radiomir of some sort but funds are not up to it at the moment.
I can understand the wariness about the brand given some of the muppetry they’ve pulled but do your research and there are some good ones out there.
