Evidently in May 2012 I owned a Pt Lange 1

TBH the main thing I remember about it was the matching Pt deployant with an alleged retail of £5k. I’m pretty fuzzy about what happened to it.

How terribly pleasant. I’d wear that.

How tf do you forget owning a watch like that?!

The Lange 1 is my all time favourite watch (interestingly, even though I love moonphases, I actually think the L1 Moonphase looks a bit busy, prefer the standard one for its elegance). Just beautiful. One day…

Probably in part because I got ill a few months later and life changed pretty dramatically.

I know I sold this

to pay for one round of surgery. The Lange might not have been such a specific transaction but more likely part of the same vibe.

Like that alot

Trying very hard to not go in to the shop and enquire about 0% credit on this:

It’s sat next to Starbucks Rollie priced at £14000, so looks very good value indeed in comparison.

Why?

I love the look of these, but they fall off a cliff used and servicing is pricey for the recent ones with in-house movements.

For half the price, Damasko make a better watch - hardened steel case, and universally serviceable Valjoux movement:

That one really does look fantastic.

I’ve owned two, they are the ultimate super-legible minimalist chrono - I marginally preferred the white dial DC57 so that’s the one I kept:

My most-worn watch by some margin.

Not the same brag-factor as IWC though…

I like the Flieger a lot, indeed I have its two siblings, but personally I’m not too keen on that particular hands / dial iteration.

Haven’t you already got a classic chronograph?

Wait, you are supposed to just have one? :flushed:

That looks amazing.

Good point.
Just realised that I have two chrongraph watches.

I really love that dial. I would love to have one of their three hand models with one of their own movements and a steel bracelet but all of the models I like with their movement don’t come with the bracelet. I think because they are submarine steel as opposed to their stainless steel ones.

Not that I have the money currently anyway but I always have my eye on them since you pointed them out.
