Sadly they only do rubber straps for that case and I hate 'em.
Might be ab bit of brand snobbery going on here, but I could never pay ÂŁ4K for a Christopher Ward.
I paid ÂŁ240 for a Malvern C5 Aviator in 2010 and canât get my head away from that!
Although hardly convenient, there are a fair number of bespoke strap makers out there who could make you a leather or hybrid strap to fit. I like a rubber strap, but it surprises me CW donât also offer a leather option for any of their âTwelveâ range.
The truth is youâre paying for the Armin Strom content in CWâs halo watches, and Iâm a little surprised they resist the temptation to play on it a little more - though thereâs the risk the AS brand would be devalued, especially since the man himself is no more (notwithstanding that he sold the company 20 years ago)⌠And they are emphatically a halo product for CW, so shifting numbers wonât be their concern.
There were definitely a few requests for a leather option on the night. I think they may well consider it. Something I forgot to get a pic of was the very nice quick release system for both the bracelet and rubber straps. It takes seconds to switch them over. A nice touch I thought and something they seem to have had a lot of positive feedback about.
They were definitely taken aback by the success of the Bel Canto and how it brought in a whole new group of buyers. I think they are more ready this time around. The âTwelveâ has been a huge success for them. I get the feeling that innovation seems to take priority over âShifting numbersâ currently. Good luck to them I say.
One thing one of the staff said is that after 2 years as an employee staff can pick any watch from the range. Consequently a lot of Bel Cantos are worn in the office and on the hour you can hear all the alarms chiming
Trickle down technology from Vacheron Constantin and AP
The VC Overseas comes with 3 straps as standard (Bracelet, rubber and leather.)
Trickle up âtechnologyâ from the Apple Watch.
Genuinely one of the best features of my Certina. This little quick release give me a good 8mm of expansion without changing a thing.
That CW is clearly a beautifully made piece of Horology, but Iâve still yet to see one I like the look of.
Fair play to them though, theyâre a great British brand making seriously nice watches for relatively sensible prices.
I have one of the ordinary ones. It is beautifully made and being both relatively thin and not bluff sided it sits under a shirt cuff much more comfortably than most watches.
I am a fan but pretty fed up of all the marketing emails about buying anotherâŚ
They really do bombard you. Iâve unsubscribed to everything but they still manage to troll me.
Unsubscribe:-)
Nup here too.
Think Iâm with you and @Kevin but it cost me ÂŁ28 so will be getting a few days wear before I put the silicone one back on!
The âBondâ stripes donât work - plain black or plain red would.
Yes, I think red would be great.
