Cocks on clocks (Part the Sekonda)

Some Oxford street watch porn a few happened to catch my eye a little earlier.

Until recently my daily has been a Tudor of one sort or another so unsurprisingly the Tudor is my choice from this bunch

A Tudor over a Breguet, an AP or a Moser? Hmmm

Although I saw a Moser in the metal last week and it was a bit too dressy for me.

(And I wouldn’t buy a Breguet)

Didn’t Abraham Louis Breguet invent the tourbillion?

That small-seconds Moser is just divine. Tho’ I’d never actually wear it… Shame the prices are truly batshit now…

@Kevin - that GO is just bloody lovely, and unlike the Rolices, you’re unlikely to be stabbed to death by a random yoot for it… Get it bought :ok_hand:

mmmm octagons

No
Breguet developed and patented it, and certainly was the first to market, but it was invented by British watchmaker John Arnold who was friends with Breguet.

My local Oris dealer has the bicompax chrono version of that on sale at the moment Chris, about a grand off at £2.5k if you’re still interested?

This is the 43mm green one.
With the protection on it and the bright lights in the shop it was very hard to distinguish from the black one.
Beautiful thing but too big
They are going to get the 39.5mm blue one in for me to try.

Souscription?

I am guessing the name based off of the single hand pay in instalments cylinder pockets watches of Breguets era.

Nice, did you take a photo of the movement? As the originals were really clean and simple.

It was pretty revolutionary at the time to offer people who couldn’t usually afford a Breguet a chance to buy one in instalments. The single hand and cylinder escapement kept it very reasonable too.

Sadly the pictures are just stolen from Insta. I just thought it was a (very) nice watch. Although if we’re being realistic it would be wildly out of my league.

That’s lovely, just like the pocket watches, even has parachute shock system.
What’s the RRP?

ÂŁ44.7k :grimacing:

Relative to some of the horrors out there I guess it’s not actually that bad.
