I like it. I’d like one but I certainly wouldn’t buy one. I would have absolutely no use for it. It’s a pointless lovely shiny thing.
Aren’t they all if you have a smartphone?

I thought I too wanted a UN Marine Chronometer until I had the opportunity to try one last week on a bracelet. The proportions felt wrong, too much dial with a thin bezel made it look like a clock on my wrist. I wish they kept the proportions of the 38mm model from several decades ago, which in 42mm form would be spot on.
Opposite the Pharmacy in the village here there’s this odd little shop that I had never paid much attention to. It looked like your standard watch repair place with lots of straps and things. However, I decided to google them today and oh my!
It says “maker of beautiful things” on the window and I agree.
Not my bag but what a statement piece.
Next time I’m down there I’ll pop my head in and say hi. It was locked up today.
Always rather liked them, but goodness me their prices have shot-up in recent years! Then, what hasn’t?
Really like this. Also one of the few watches I think looks better with a blue dial than white (at least in the pictures).

That blue with the brown is making frown.
Not for me.
Clever though.
Off the wrist, more like. Botticelli analogy quite a stretch. No shell, for a kick-off.
A watch dealer who used to threaten me on a regular basis (about 25 years ago) just got royally and very publicly fucked up the ass.
I think I still have printouts of his rants in the safe “just in case”.
Anyhow, oh noes, I’m just off to toast some marshmallows.
Me no understand. How can a watch dealer threaten you ? Could be, buy this watch or I’ll give you a pasting styley I suppose ![]()
With what I was doing at the time I reckoned I got a threat of legal action once a week and a monthly death threat (always Americans).
I lasted about four years but it’s a toxic swamp of money and egos.
OK,
, none the wiser, so now I have to ask, what were you doing?
