Cocks on clocks (Part the Sekonda)

Haha I think I knew RJB in another life.

Everyone seems to have monetised it but me.

edit: and I definitely knew Fratello

It’s 2026 and people are still doing this :sob: (German dealer on Insta this morning)

Meanwhile a friend was trying to get me to buy this yesterday.

Actually a very nice little thing for very little money.

That’s very nice.

Nope, a bit too vintage this one.

The Yacht Club still has it, although the guy’s website isn’t working and I won’t physically be back in Antwerp until late October

Back from its service that took nearly two years :face_with_spiral_eyes::grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Eh ? How ?

Just the way it goes with some of these guys, add in vintage parts availability can be a bit of a pain, some random part took weeks and weeks to turn up.

Nah just send it to Omega who have all the parts, they only want your first born as payment though.

You totally want to send that case off for laser welding and lapping now though  will smarten it up no end, these guys are ‘reasonable’ and very good

Ah … Rocco in Bristol…

I hear he’s very good Rolex approved watchmaker … my 16750 really needs a service (you did it last time Dom) …so a long time ago …

He’s only a 20 minute motorbike ride way from me.

Yes, he will be list prices for Rolex but his workshop is good.

Although I only ever used to send empty cases for sunburst with pushers etc removed. He would laser weld and lap them and his work was always good.

Can’t remember when I did this one, but I have been out of the watch world for 5 years now

I turned up on a black Ducati monster…I also brought in my very old Citizen Aqualand c020 for you to see if you could fix. You had a go but it really needed parts (unobtainable).

Pic below of one similar to mine …might jog your memory…

So many horror stories about omega and vintage watches it put me off. Tbh I’m not bothered about the time it took, there was a patch with no communication that worried me.

No interest in having the case restored, I prefer worn vintage to as new and restored. But the nice thing is it could be put back to as new condition any time.

What’s also quite interesting is mine didn’t have a sunburst finish from factory. The late production cases have a circular finish like this one from the flightmaster only book.

Interesting, not seen a circular one before. Very sensible not sending it to Omega themselves, but the likes of watch works above or Swiss time servicing etc do good work on the vintage stuff, it’s just always in the thousands not the hundreds so very prohibitive, especially for regular servicing.

I do remember and the Citizen! Must have been 8+ years ago then I reckon

Yeah. That would be about right …you actually got the citizen running …but couldn’t say if it would stay that way …it’s not been used for a few years but seemed ok …I’ve removed the batteries…all three ! …and put it away …

44mm ceramic lefty, attempting to muscle in on Moonwatch territory.

Also this pair of tricky sells.

Despite not being a fan of integrated straps, I’m still rather taken with Sinn’s new 544 RS -

As increasingly usual for Sinn they’ve spoiled the ship and omitted the Tegimentation / case hardening. 38.5mm does seem pretty on-point though.

Those IWCs are all absolutely fucking horrible / will sell out instantly. :poop:

Think I’ll stick with my plastic moonswatch.
