Ah ok assumed it was the Breville Barista Max.
we’d better stop discussing nespresso as the coffee police get upset with that heathen stuff.

Hehe, yeah!
Will it take Gold Blend?
Anyone used this company?
The main guy has a YouTube channel that’s a bit twee (“Hello fellow coffee botherers” “Tatty Bye” ) but he does lots of really good machine reviews and comparisons. He’s mainly focused on espresso based stuff so maybe not everyone here’s cup of tea?
Just in case this hasn’t been posted before…
Systematically Improving Espresso: Insights from Mathematical Modelling and Experiment
I have seen his you tube posts and he publishes some good discount codes,
I sent him an email by way of a reply to one of his round robin emails and he sent me a very quick courteous and informed reply.
I have looked at buying his coffee but the naming system confuses me and I don’t know if I am buying a single origin cofee or a blend.
Calling them ‘Chocolate Brownie’ or ‘Custard Cream’ or whatever just adds to the confusion to me so I have never ordered any.
I’m pretty sure some of them are blends, but he does have some single origin stuff like this (Conniption Alert…)
It does say in the description if they’re Single origin, but sometimes in the blurb, and sometimes in the table at the bottom.
He’s in Alderley Edge so the silly names are probably catering for the Cheshire set.
I just bought the beginner home barista collection, let’s see if I like any of them.
Just call the stuff what it is It is coffee not a confectionary.
I buy my shoelaces from wherever I like for what ever reason i like, now kindly fuck off

This machine is bloody awesome.
Dialled In within 4 shots, albeit with the crappy beans I picked up on the way home to learn how to do that. So I pissed about for another 5 shots just because. Then went back to the 4th setting again just to check.
Bit wired now, because of course I drank 4 of the best shots to see how good they were… good luck getting to sleep tonight…
First couple of cups of this tonight, fairly local company. I don’t have much experience of light roasts but this is really very nice. I need to try more light roasts.
@Kevin wondered if you had opened any of the TW yet? Just on my December coffees now.
Had both my December coffees they were excellent.
January ones arrived a couple of days ago but have a few bags of unknown quality given as Christmas presents to get through before starting them.
Happy with the TW deal so far ![]()
Good to hear mate. Always nervous when I recommend something ![]()
Did you get Karinga in December? It’s a blackcurrant explosion!
