Cricket, lovely cricket (Part 2)

It doesn’t look promising but who knows, even 90-120 minutes of play on Sunday might be enough :crossed_fingers:

The Aussies are broken and England are champing at the bit. I don’t think England could have done much more than they did today, it was another astonishing display.

My 5p is going on England to win at The Oval. Whether that means a series draw or an England win is down to the weather. Stokes/McCullum are good but even they can’t control that.

Incredibly, if there is no more rain play will start at 14:45

Please don’t let this be false hope.

If it rains again that’s it for today.

Reckon they should give Moeen a little spell here, need to break this partnership and he might just tempt one of them into a mistake. Marsh is bound to go after him.

Stinks of a draw. They just don’t need to play at anything not hitting the stumps.
Never know, but it’s going to take some magic.

Australia retaining the ashes this afternoon. :frowning:

Amazing that there is any play at all really. It is feckin’ teeming down here in the People’s Republic of Liverpool.

Joe Root eh?

To be fair he’s looked way more dangerous than Moeen.

That’s more like it Mo’

Much better over.

Well, it’s stopped raining in Cornwall at least! :crossed_fingers:

Pitch inspection at 12:15

Lunch at 12:20 so play might start at 13:00 if-there’s-no-more-rain…

edit

Play will start at 13:00

:grinning:

aaand it’s raining again

I’m in Yorkshire and it’s fucking belting down

Yellow rain warning, is that anything like Zappa’s snow warning ?

More like Trumps Golden Shower :grinning:

Anti-climax is a bitch.

Not too much of a surprise, I hope they play Josh Tongue

Are Australia going to try and actually win this one? If Cummins wins the toss is he going to have a clue what to do? I hope it’s an absolute road so we can witness moar evisceration. :+1: #seething

Winning the toss hasn’t had much impact so far. Cummins has been coming in for a lot of stick back home for his captaincy, particularly the last test.
I hope England can maintain the intensity of the last two matches to win “the decider”.

Forecast isn’t exactly great for the five days.:weary:

Ollie Robinson has a great record at the Oval so will
surely be back in the team with him being fresh.
Be interesting to see who makes way for him.

Saw the headline here, and my immediate assumption was it was a Brit with sour grapes. Slightly surprised to discover this came from an Aussie commentator. Thoughts?
