Good day all round
Root gets 100 and all time test catches record
Bumrah gets a 5fer.
Archer gets a wicket!
Carse gets a 50
Jofra Archerâs first over was fantastic. Brilliant to see the joy when he took that wicket.
I hope that England can keep chipping today. Any lead on this surface will be golden, I think.
Left it late but a breakthrough
Wow! What a beautiful little play. This could open the game up. Awesome awareness of Indiaâs need for a single. Razor sharp fielding.
Mistake by India there. They were putting the individual before the team. Just play out the over, come back after lunch. But no, look for the single to get KL back on strike and whoops.
Even more satisfying to turn over from the Lions and see it happen.
Itâs going to be a battle to inject a bit of magic to make this pitch look anything but safe.
Really need to make the new batters suffer before they get set.
Clever to leave Bashir on too. If they had put a seamer on, KL Rahul may well have been less interested in getting on strike because the boundary necessary for his century would probably have been more of a risk. Superb bit of cricket, anyhow.
Time to turn the screwâŚ
Perfect end to day three (in a quality sense).
387 all at half time!
Scores level, you couldnât make it up.
Nasty little few minutes coming up for the openers. No win really, canât score any meaningful runs but always the chance of a wicket
Great match this. Iâm gripped.
I didnât pick this up at the time. Was it a comment on the trigger umpire and not getting umpires call?
Every trick in the book to keep it to one over
Not sure winding them up like that is such a great idea!
What a great dayâs play though. The game didnât drift for a second, both teams utterly committed.
Crawley did nowt that their openers wouldnât have done, in the same position.
This
Agreed. Great entertainment, though!
It will be interesting to see how England approach the game tomorrow. Itâs still not a pitch for free flowing scoring. My feeling is that Indiaâs seamers are getting more out of the pitch than Englandâs are, but maybe itâs an illusion. The scores are level!
