DAC advice

I recently bought an Eversolo A6 from Nick to dabble in streaming. I’ve put an SSD drive in it to add some ripped CDs and started a 60 day trial with Tidal. I’ve got to say I’ve had a couple of entertaining evenings listening to it and enjoyed what it does.
Now I’m wondering if a different DAC would improve the sound quality.
Any suggestions for something not too expensive say up to £1k that would improve the experience.
Down the rabbit hole as usual.

as the owner of several DACs under £1k I find it very hard not to recommend a Mojo2. The RME ADI-2-FS I have is also excellent, and I wouldn’t be without either, but at £400 the Mojo2 is pretty damn near perfect.

Pretty sure you can use the one off your CD player, have you tried that?

DDDAC NOS are my faves as they sound fluid and less edgy than a lot of DACs I’ve heard here.

There’s one on PFM at the moment. You can buy it as is and then throw more money at it to pimp the power supply even further, it’s worth it.

Tried this but A6 doesn’t recognise it as a dac. Might be because it’s part of a CD player

I have a mk1 and a mk2 and they are good, the old mk1 is really natural but doesnt do any of the hi res type stuff the newer one does

Auralic are going cheap now, the Vega mk1 is probably my second favorite DAC behind the AN 2.1x Sig.

I’m very happy with a Denafrips dac with my A6. Here’s one that gets great reviews - in your price range.

There’s a vega g2 on eBay for £1300, and that was what, 6k when new? It’s a super bit of kit
