I have (some) respect for what DCS do, and how they do it, but their userbase are mentalists!
Not that anyone cares, but I think the media’s attitude of “my opinion carries as much weight as your expertise” is significantly to blame.
Look at covid - “tonight’s panel includes the esteemed professor of epidemiology, and for balance, Tory rentagob”. That worked out well.

The world is pretty fucked though, when somewhere, some asshat has enough disposable cash to spend on upgraded £2500 cables for the clock input of his £35000 DAC.
I suspect this human doesn’t give much to charity!

Bollocks or not*, the purpose of money is to (try to) buy happiness. If it’s bought him happiness then it’s worked. As someone once said “It’s just a hi-fi”.
*I haven’t read any of the DCS forum stuff but, for the avoidance of doubt, I fear it is likely to be bollocks, at least from a technical point of view.

I agree, it was a tad unfounded. I just get so annoyed that we live in a world where children are starving to death and some deluded prick is debating whether the cables from his 5 digit costing clock, sound different!
The fact a human can even consider that level of expenditure on something so meaningless boils my piss.

Dude, the second richest man in the world won’t pay his staff a fair living wage or let them join a union, and he won’t pay his taxes: £billions that should be flowing into various exchequers which could be funding hospitals, schools, mental health care…
Spending a few grand on Hatstand Audio’s Infinite-Improbability Cables because it gives one a tingly weewee is vanishingly trivial by comparison with the manifold evils of this tits-up World…
