You’re right Chris they are the weak link but I can’t afford to replace them.

They are fully lined and weighted and would likely be into four figures to replace.

Got mine from this place, I just went for a standard white backing and they were only ÂŁ180

Quite slow to make and deliver but for the price, worth it

Girl at our school in the 70s with Swedish parents had a very similar setup with light pine stripped floors.

Looked so futuristic at the time and still looks cool today

Orange and green, my Mum’s 70s kitchen (Which they kept until the 90s)

FoL#2 is doing up the small bathroom in their newly acquired house. One of his work colleagues helpfully simmed a new one for him.

For my sins I used to collect canes / walking sticks.

These days I only have very few left, including this nice bit of snakewood with a gold (?) finial.

Anyway, that’s not why I’m here. What caught my eye today (because it was so dusty) was this. Unknown wood, with a silver finial engraved “From a hedge in Dominica (Br. W. Indies)”

I always imagined some toff hoiking a particularly nice-looking stick out of a hedge and instructing a minion to get it made into a cane.

Years later I stumbled across an indication that I might not have been too far off the mark. I believe that the coronet on the top of the finial

with four leaves and five pearls is that of an Earl or Countess

I assume that the letter is a stylised L so sadly it can’t have belonged to the Earl of Sodbury.

Oh, and don’t try taking extreme macro shots one-handed when your find motor skills are as shot as mine.

Well, just over a third is anyway

Perhaps look at Earls who owned ‘property’ in Dominica

Could be the Earl of Leicester, hallmark is 1913 so that would be
