But I will give you that his voiceover work as the parrot on Disney’s Aladdin was quality
He does what people watch really. He’s said that nobody was watching normal advice videos but everyone was watching natty or not videos lol
I like his assessment for getting subs - good looking, good hair and now he’s added tattoos haha, bang on.
He doesn’t hide it, more spews for views. It’s made him very rich
He does seem quite focused on numbers of subscribers, his but more important to him, what other people are getting if it’s more than him.
Lee Priest put him in his place and a dose of his own medicine
The irony of one body builder telling people about another selling steroids.
They are all on steroids, clearly.
Oh god yeah, but of course they all bitch that everyone takes more than they do like some kind of moral high ground!
Ironically Greg actually advises low doses and says most of them are on way too much. Hence the freakazoid bodies we get these days.
That’s I the one thing I like the most about him, he is honest about his taking, the levels and what that does to his testosterone levels. Plus how he has to be on hrt now because he overused when young.
He doesn’t lie like most other you tubers who claim to be natural.
Just channel the parrot from Aladdin shouting ‘work harder’ and you can save the time watching his videos
That’s the filthy world of modern ‘fitness’ sadly, loads of pretty and buff looking boys and girls all focused on their insta and followers whilst gobbling loads of tren’ off camera.
Work harder than last time*
Gym shark has a lot to answer for
Oldest formula in the book though just adapted to a social media world.
Weider spotted the opportunity way back in the 60s - get a bunch of big guys who are all on the gear, create a superficial contest so that someone ‘wins’, name it at a level beyond local states, America, or even the planet, get those guys in your magazines talking bollocks about their training, whilst they promote your line of expert nutrition ‘Weiders Weight Gain Powder’ etc.
Young guys aspire to that and so try to copy the ‘routines of the Champions’ and inevitably fail to get any where near, so in desperation they buy Joes miracle powders and when that doesn’t work they then start programme hopping etc.
Unless they discover anabolics, or someone resets their expectations it’s likely they’ll give up, but not before buying lots of magazines and pointless supps - Weiders get rich being the only outcome.
What used to be niche is now mass market and a shysters free for all. It’s a filthy dirty business that tries to pretend it has athletic pretensions, like some kind of faux sport, and blurs the lines between things like health and fitness whilst being a vehicle for a pointless supplement industry and a promoter of harmful drug taking.
Latest vid featuring Menno Henselmans. He’s clearly not Gregg ‘Gym shark hair’ Doucette
I like Menno, he’s in the same camp of science biased trainers like Isratel, Nuckols etc. so he’s not the ex BBer, jacked guy saying ‘do what I do cos look at my guns it works etc’.
He’s pretty detailed and elaborates his points, and so not going to appeal to those wanting soundbite or short sharp take aways etc. However I like listening to Menno as I can guarantee I’ll learn something new every time.
His calculator is pretty cool too in terms of potential / remaining potential -
I’ll take a look but I fear it could be too much science.
Menno is science biased and knowledgeable but is quite listenable (imo).
I do like listening to some science based info. I like different people for different reasons. I’ll definitely check him out .
Or biased, whatever.
That’s an interesting link indeed. As I kind of knew, my thighs and calf’s are overdeveloped but my arms and chest are under developed. A reverse American lifter?
More like a woman?
Lol, I’ll have to find a tape measure.
Thanks for that, more because of the martial art I teach three times a week, doesn’t require any upper body strength, all in the legs/core
I find it funny that my calf’s are already at 90 something percent of the theoretical max for my body size
‘‘Twas merely in jest to pull your ample leg
It is the opposite to the classic bro who just trains chest and arms and hasn’t done a leg day in a decade.
Yeah no surprise which bits of you are bigger, it might be genetic (ie I don’t know you might always have had larger muscle bellies in your legs) and very likely frequency of use from your training/ teaching.
Calves are a great example of stark genetic differences. You see the skinny calf guy (me) ask the guy with 22” calves what he does to get them that big and he says ‘I don’t train calves they’ve always been this big…’. So what should I conclude - don’t train calves?
