Currently noticing that things like this exist

and pondering what can be done with a combination of parts bins, LTSpice and general boredom.

In general I like to make a new DIY audio related item every 7-10 days

Due to the lockdown I’ve had no time for such projects, but my latest involves a goldring gl75

Will keep you updated

Looking forward to that. I’ve just purchased one to fettle from a charity shop.

It’s not going to be that exciting I’m afraid
Think inking of using one of those old lack type cabinets, and dropping it into the top top, with the quad pre and power underneath

Will just dremell a bigger hole for the arm, and with use a small rectangle out of Ali or perspex with 4 fixing holes, then probable use an old neat tonearm I have

God knows when it will happen, can’t even find my jigsaw

Do like something about the simplicity of the gl75

First turntable i brought many yrs ago.

The arm pivot I believe was 210 or so. Think linn are one of the ones that would probably fit. Must be others

The helius aurum is 215.6 I think
The neat is 222 same as regs fit smaller hole. If it was a permanent deck I’d stick the helius on

!

Router or axe?

Good luck, either way

Other option was to cut most of the top of the systemdek off, then make a 12 mm template and paint the lot

It fits in the hole

It’s a start

I’ve seen people modify that back right corner in various ways such that different arms can be fitted. What are you going to do?

Dremell it back about 8mm then use 2 delrin covers Top and bottom m

to hide it all. Eventually probably make a rectangle that be screamed down in each corner out of Ali. At least that way armboards will be simple to make

Didn’t have great day with it to today
The dremmell bits are to fine so spent ages looking for a courser one which was hidden away

So ended up just stripping bearing, cleaning and fresh oil. Tomorrow weather dependant, I hope to have the platter cleaned and buffed and made hole ready for arm
Hopefully will be a working by tea time, if not I’ll lob it over neighbours fence with other broken amps, speakers etc
