I took Buddy to the vet today. He has kennel cough, a chest infection and a very high temperature. I’ve left with a variety of meds. The vet gave him an injection to bring his temperature down and he has perked up a bit now and has eaten a good meal. Poor wee sausage.

Do you get your vet to give him the kennel cough vaccine with his annual booster?

Thanks Wayne. Yes he has had his annual kennel cough vaccine.
I think it’s a bit like the covid vaccine in that it doesn’t guarantee that you won’t catch the infection but rather it reduces the severity of the illness.
However, given that the infection has gone to his chest and he has such a high temperature, I’m not sure that this year’s vaccine is particularly effective against this year’s bug variants.

After a night of seizures we have had to put Maxwell to sleep.
