Doggos

I took Buddy to see the vet yesterday and it seems that dashing straight through the shrubbery at full tilt in pursuit of a fox the night before has caused another corneal ulcer. The vet tells me this one is very superficial so I’m hoping it will heal much more quickly than the last one which dragged on for months.

Now he has to wear the cone of shame when he goes out to protect his eye from further damage and to deter him from rampaging head first into hedges and bushes. To add insult to injury I made him wear a raincoat tonight.

Windblown sighthounds on a walk with friends earlier - Max (L) is 14 now, and his chum Rafa (who is as happy/derpy as he looks in the pic) is 13.

Currently at emergency vet in Northampton with Tara after she was bitten on her right flank by a collie at around 5pm.:weary:

Ouch. Hopefully a stitch or two will sort that out. Good luck with the vet bill though. That is more likely to be a near fatal wound.

Ouch :persevere:

That looks painful. Poor Tara. Good luck!

She’ll be fine Paul - the hard part will be stopping her licking the wound, or rather, keeping the cone-of-shame on so she can’t…

Had to get a fuckwit-proof one to stop our Tara from licking at her muntjac-hunting excursion into a barbed-wire fence…

Vet shaved area, flushed it out and stapled it as stitches would have required a general anaesthetic which I was reluctant to put her through.

Also got antibiotics so made he a little supper to mix them with.
She is a bit whiny but not even attempted to lick the area so far.
I thought I had a cone but can’t seem to find it.:man_shrugging:

The bill is being picked up by the lady whose dog bit Tara.

Glad to hear it - rare, but fair :+1:

Oh no, collies can be buggers. Hope Tara is comfortable.

This is sister / niece’s pointer cross Pepper in the strides of shame (cat motifs). She’d gashed herself (again!) chasing a ball. Healing up well, I hear.

This is a word that should be rehabilitated.

I still remember an interview between Kerrang! and Lee “Scratch” Perry in the early 80s, describing him as wearing a “terrifying” (24" flared) “pair of strides” :+1:

Absolutely nothing to do with me, but I loved Bluey on social media getting a doggy ice cream for being a good boy at the vets.

Wholesome energy.
