One lucky hound…
She is lush ! Looks to be getting well adjusted too.
Mind, I’m surprised she hasn’t mistaken one of your legs for an old bone yet.
She looks to be well settled in.
Cheers. We’ve had a great day with a couple of nice walks and a first go on a long 10m lead in an enclosed field to practice recall.
Barney2tone correctly surmising that he’s considerably more photogenic, and upstaging his namesake.
Despite being near his time, with lymphoma and prostate cancers, he’s perked up considerably on low dose chemo. Plus four fresh omelettes a day suit him very nicely.
He was delighted to see all the family over the weekend.
Whiskery chops.
Saffron’s first dog training class today and she loved it. It’s always reassuring when you take a big boisterous hound and find out there’s much worse behaved dogs than yours!
Nice class with 7 dogs and two mentors as well as the main teacher. Learned a lot.
The bearded rat attempts to stare down some bearded goats, Big Train style. It didn’t work

Abby is now 171/2 and has just returned from the vet who gave her a clean bill of health!
Here is her equine mate
They have a snotter thing going
Big hound wriggled past us yesterday after a 7 mile walk, and escaped through the back gate - promptly bounding off at top speed to the end of our road and out of sight
I pegged it after her and thankfully she turned right probably out of habit, onto the quieter end, and I got to the junction to see her almost at the end of that road.
Shouted her name and fortunately she stopped and looked back, and when I said ‘come here’ she bounded back at full speed back in to my arms just as we had been practicing . Thank fuck for that!
She acted as if she didn’t know what all the fuss was about!
That’s good news.
Fortunately, both of ours will wander off, but never go far and always return to the house every few minutes. It’s a nice day here and the door is open, so they’re both outside now, somewhere…
Oh eck! Thank god for the classes!
I opened the front door yesterday to find Rosie sat there, still no idea how she got there…
