After the fiasco last night, unless the Democrats dump Biden and get any vaguely sentient person who can string two sentences together on the ticket then Trump will walk into the White House.
And they reckon the Conservatives are shooting themselves in the foot over here!
If I was American, I could never vote for Trump, but on last night’s showing I couldn’t vote for Biden either.

Joking aside, yes I think the Dems need to do something. Their hand has been forced on this one. I’m not saying Trump doesn’t have a degree of cognitive impairment (in addition to be being demented) but last night was grim viewing.
Sadly for us he renounced his US citizenship (probably to get out of paying tax) so doesn’t qualify
I’m sad that I continue to be astonished at the inability of the US to adequately call Trump out for his endless stream of lies. The person whose sole job it was to collate checked facts from the debate took 3 minutes, speaking quickly to list the glaring errors that came from Trump. Not address them - just list them.
Trump used a Gish gallop, a technique where so many outright lies are combined with half-truths and random non-sequiturs and an occasional truthful fact that it is impossible to address and counter what is said.
Biden started badly and finished better while Trump came out strong and faded into blather, but the damage was done. Much of the media ignore that and are focused on Bidens age - he is too old at 81 - but ignore that Trump is just 3 years younger.
May the grim reaper deliver them to the appropriate place.

It was Biden that requested this head to head. He didn’t have to do it.
Hopefully it will force the Dems into declaring him medically unfit and bringing in a sensible candidate.
The yes men are telling Biden he did fine, it was just a little wobble and he is looking forward to speaking at a rally in North Carolina.
If he screws up there in front of a friendly audience who knows?
My cat would have made more sense. I want to like him, have faith, anything but Trump but Biden is a walking open goal

I don’t know that much about him but there’s talk that California governor?/senator? Gavin Newsome might be persuaded to step in. He seems a pretty smart cookie and would make mincemeat of Trump in any debate. Also a more sensible age. The way America is currently, it’s too early to try and get a black woman such as Kamala Harris elected.

The painful part of all this, is the choice in front the American people.
They deserve better than either of them.
The yes men will be playing it down as they are the ones calling the shots in government and don’t want a pesky president with ideas of his own.
Problem is he is continually screwing up and it seems to be getting progressively worse.
If they don’t do something now (he should never have been the nominee in the first place) it could end up being too late to salvage the situation. The presidency then gets handed to Trump on a plate and the world is fucked as well as the US.

I absolutely do not think Biden is shoved in an armchair while dark forces within his party take advantage of him for their own ends. He is old. He is not stupid and I doubt he gets pushed around.
Equally, his age is a massive issue and in environments like that debate on certain days it is clearly an enormous problem.
