Dreams

I don’t really dream that much, but periodically I suffer from sleep paralysis/ false awakening. At one point it would happen nearly every night, sometimes multiple times.

I would dream that someone/something was in the room, but would be paralysed and unable to cry out. I’d then ‘wake up’ - really think I was awake, but still not be able to move, and feel totally panicked. The worst times, I’d ‘wake up’ two or three times in succession and the presence could grab my leg or hand, or even whisper in my ear. I can’t really describe how terrifying it is.

Mostly it happened when I was in a really bad place a few years ago, but occasionally it still happens now. The last time, a few months ago, I woke up screaming and really frightened Kerri.

Anyone else experienced this?

Never slept with her mate, but if she’s game…

Yep, troubled teens. Very easy to see how so many ghost stories came about. It’s horrible. Not happened since I left home and slowly sorted my shit out.

Was having horrific dreams a few years ago each night for a couple of months, got so bad that I’d try and not sleep.

Used to get falling off a building a lot as a kid,and wake up just before landing. Think they stopped when I was 15 or 16

Yes, I used to really worry about going to sleep, when it was at it’s worst. I was a walking panic attack at the time, and to not be getting enough sleep didnt help!

I used to have a recurring dream (Probably 10 times)
I’d be running along the beach with my arms outstretched towards a beautiful woman …(Bit like the scene in Dudley Moors ‘10’) As I got closer however she was not beautiful at all - hideous in fact! I would attempt to run past her with my arms still outstretched as if towards someone else. Then I’d look back over my shoulder and see she was chasing me and had a big orthopedic shoe that was denting the sand weirdly and ‘thudding’ as she ran - Then I’d wake up remembering it in full technicolor feeling utterly freaked out.

This dream still haunts me when walking along the beach.

I’d like to get enough sleep to dream.

Sure that was a dream?

I genuinely don’t know what it was other than a very real feeling anxiety dream that kind of makes me laugh and shit myself at the same time?

This. Can’t remember the last time.

I’ve been around 4hrs a night for past few months. Living in a daze.

“Il y a du monde au balcon” is my favourite off-colour French saying.

Google threw this up

as an example.

Not the feeling of a presence in the room. Occasionally I will be trying to speak/yell in a dream, and then enter a half awake state where I feel that my voice is stuck in my throat.
Used to have a recurring dream in which I would be fishing and start catching rotting/zombie salmon. There was also an oddly terrifying sunbathing astronaut (in full lunar landing regalia) that would make appearances.

You’ve got it bad, mate.

This is imprinting on your subconscious:

“Screaming ugly sunbathing astronaut with orthopedic shoe touches you when you sleep and makes you chase rotting/zombie salmon”

Sleep tight.
