Well yes. I prefer them to LS3/5a’s to be honest. That is really not saying much. Sold my pair of JR149s after twatting the tweeters and replacing them with the right ones.
Sold my LS3/5a’s as well, never use them and they are so restrictive. I still maintain the best pair of LS3/5a’s I have ever owned (about 5 pairs) are the Kef Raymond Cooke Special Edition black lacquer ones, because they are made of MDF to attach the black lacquer and the thickness of the lacquer makes the cabinet much stiffer and less rose tinted.
Worst ones were a pair of Rogers 11 ohm ones.

Linn Kans can sound OK-ish with the right amps and setting. They need to be on a shelf or stands next to the wall and you have to use CB Naim 12S/160 or 42/110, don’t use CD with them or digital streaming as they sound even worse. A LP12 and naim with them is what they need. Mind, all that fuss and expense is not worth it. Yes I have sold my Kans.

It could also be that you listen to shite with no decernable beat or rhythm. 
yes this dac was up for about 3.3k privately and elite have made it much more reasonable

The only pair of speakers my other half has commented on are Chartwell LS3s
They sounded superb with a very cheap old sony receiver,but average with far more expensive amps
I like my JR149s a lot for small-scale stuff. The bass they do is surprisingly good but you don’t get the bottom octave of course (maybe more, depending on what you listen to). The sub is rare and might justify the price but I’ve never heard one. My 149s were about £350 a decade ago. I also have the bigger brothers - the 150s. They do more bass but everything else seemed less good about them. I haven’t played them for years.
