They can be factory refurbished back to new.
You could probably buy them, sell on one pair and that would more than pay for the refurb on the ones you keep.
They are Marmite, sure, but well worth trying if youāve never lived with a pair.
Asking for a friend, is this a good deal/any good? I was going to advise looking at the Gyro or SP10 that is also there.

The Adicts MM cart, Valhalla the basic 1 speed power supply, and although its got new sub-chassis, not sure black lined bearing is newer Cirkus.

The LVlll is a nice thing to have but itās a fairly basic LP12. Itās quite a lot of money in this spec. Ā£2200 buys a lot of nice turntables
