Everything is, all the time. You could buy brand-new and the wretched, shitty slot-loader could fail at any time. The Krell is physically battered on the outside, and that alone is putting people off. At least if it does go tits-up it’s a good-enough machine to be worth getting fixed. Krell used to have a good rep for customer support, and don’t appear to have become part of Peoples Republic of China PLC yet, so may still be able to help.

Not ebay, and a brand that’s as popular on here as a radioactive dog turd, but £2,370 for a Mark Levinson integrated is pretty keen - nearest thing they do now is £10K and not as well put-together. Elite are good to deal with, and may well haggle a little.

Don’t think I’ve ever heard an ML product.

You’re not missing much

At shows they invariably get paired with the kind of speakers that you need your own substation to get moving, and always end-up sounding like the usual disappointing, overpriced hifi-show fare. The couple of times I’ve heard them in private systems they sounded great - just supremely competent, no particular sound characteristic at-all.

Are the knobs for winding up the hamsters?

Cryogenically-treated hamsters with bionic implants, obviously… :ok_hand:

No need for gratuitous cruelty, enjoyable as it may be.

Unfortunately not. At Munich I heard some huge JBL Everest type things, which I was quite looking forward to, but because of distributor reasons they were driving them with ML. It just sounded like ML - taut and puckered up bass, no space in the mids. Meh.

I see words, but can make no sense of them…?

I heard them at Windsor one year, they weren’t being driven by MLs and they were still meh!

I want this but just not that much.

I recall hearing some of the original ML2 mono amplifiers (25W Class A) many years ago. They were pretty good and are still much sought after these days.

Is that very expensive, or is the one that @Kevin 's selling on here a bargain?

You mean the one he’s now keeping!
