Yes, the Schopper version is cast aluminium

whereas the Swissonor one is Ni-Resist T2 - austenitic (non-magnetic) cast iron

I think the original Thorens lightweight platter were a magnesium alloy cast at Inca. Thomas Schick cast (Not die cast) a similar thing for his idler drive TT, he talks a bit about it here

Yes, I saw (and heard) that at Munich. They also had a Neumann cartridge but I think that might have been used on another deck.

Cabs notwithstanding, the drivers look in better condition.

I had a look underneath it when it was at ETF a few years ago. Properly substantial castings & engineering that you can’t really appreciate from above.
