I had one of those a number of years ago - Stu took it to Scalford in a tiny box room! . This eBay pair look quite rough and are missing the bug bags, quilted damping blanket, Both magnets look different / later / not alnico, labels, handles, Crossovers are different etc etc. A matched pair in Japan went for £35K or so. They are rare and they are better than the Altec A5.

No doubt they’re still worth quite a bit, but yeah ferrite magnet and not alnico and then damaged driver but no photos of it. will no doubt need to be exported to realise anything close to the asking price

Obviously quite a bit more once shipped and vat etc but I can imagine these being quite nice. I have a pair of the smaller ss-a1l which were sony’s version of the ls3/5a, they’re very good.
