eBay stuff (Part 2)

I think the white version look extremely cool.
They may go down in audio history as one of the biggest bargains in hi fi.
They could of stuck them in an audio note type enclosure, and probably charged far more.

I’ve owned the 2 ways and have the 3 ways, aesthetically I am not keen but forgive them for the sound.

Been tempted to have them veneered or sprayed.

I love the look of them and have been very tempted a few times but, matchbox size room reasons …

Just as they don’t need powerful amps, they don’t need big rooms.

Still enjoy listening to the original Celan 300 stand mounts from time to time. Been keeping an eye out for a pair of fridges at sensible money. No luck yet.

I really want the three ways but have yet to see any for sale.

You won’t do, there’s only 3x pairs in the UK

Bollocks :sob::sob::sob::sob::sob:

Surely there must be more than that, be interesting to know how many pairs they sold in total.

I brought in 3 pairs of Dreiklang directly from Heco. I’ve no idea how many grey import pairs came in from German stockists. Not that many I wouldn’t have thought as shipping on these was fairly pricy. I only know of yours & Simon’s @sjs pairs although there may be a few more.
I still own my black pair although they live at Deco (where he has the space for them)

I imagine they’ll have sold a decent number in Germany and via their distributors in Spain etc. But I think for Heco, that they do the designs in Germany, oversee their manufacture in China but are probably obliged to take MOQ’s from the factory. On something like the Dreiklang it may still have been 100 pairs so they’d need to be confident those would sell fairly quickly & if not they’ll just stop. I still think the 2 way was an absolute bargain with the right amp attached & wish they were still doing it even in a more conservative finish.

(incidentally the styling clues actually came from early electric guitars rather than racing cars)

Don’t think many of the German dealers would ship to the UK and that’s probably zero after brexit.

There was a dealer selling them as individual speakers and the total price inc VAT post brexit was around £5k

I said 3x sort of jokingly as I know of Simon, Cosmo and Sodders being owners. I never saw anyone buying them on the other forums, used to be some mention on the Hoffman forum for owners in the US as they have much bigger rooms.

I think I was just lucky, spotted a pair of white ones ex-demo for 3.5k on ebay including delivery then the dealer offered me a new pair for 500 more which allowed me to have a black pair.

totally agree, and the pair on eBay atm at £1,255 are a no brainer

:zipper_mouth_face:

Is the step up from the two ways to the three ways a big difference?

About 6sq ft I think

No idea on what size room would be best for them, but they sounded fantastic at cranage

I really like the sound of the lightweight paper drivers in both. They have a very similar overall presentation in terms of tone and style, the 3 ways just go deeper, when required, and have a slightly calmer top end. I read they can also go to a much higher SPL, but that isn’t really something that I have tested out, with either of them.

I guess the real testament is that after hearing the 2 ways, and hearing @murrayjohnson and @Mrs_Maureen_OPinion talk about the 3 ways, I changed my speakers for the first time in 20 years and have been really glad I did

The two ways are sort of AN/Snell E sized, whereas the 3 way are Snell A sized, but I have been told that the Dreiklangs in white look fantastic, whereas the Snells don’t

Seen those on eBay a while ago and they didn’t sell then. The colour is the reason there still hanging around, who the fuck at Heco thought brilliant white was a great idea to promote salesšŸ˜†
