I had a play with the direkts a few weeks ago,needed some warm up as they have sat idle for ages.
The 10 watt AI 300 powers them fine once they are broken back in.I use a quad 34/306 to speed up the process.

Just a simple all-in-one and some cheap speakers. Money raised to be spent more wisely. I have a room just for tunes so luckier than most.
I suppose it depends what you mean by “more wisely” - if cash is short, then needs must, of course
