I think it is the price per unit. Still fecking cheap at that price though.
Ah makes me feel better as I was going to sell one of mine for £1400
Apologies to all those watching silently in the hope of a last minute sneaky bid
Will ship to the UK
Well these are a bit different.
And these must have been placed by a large heater.
These look like they are bopping along to the music!
Custom ‘Rammstein’ build? deffo points for effort
Pile 'o shite.
“Audio Inputs: Stereo L/R RCA
Number of Channels: 2”
I fear there are going to be tears over that. Unless he has another one, that’s as mono as a very mono thing.
Nothing wrong with Haddon transformers though. They made all the ones for the Leak TL/12 Point Ones and, I think, some other Leak amps, before Harold started buying from Hinchley to save a few quid.
EDIT: Hang on, looks like he has got another one (cheaper trannies though)
Haddon Transformers are worth the entry fee. (Also made the transformers for the later Westrex amps and STC.)
You all seem to be forgetting that Bob knows more about old tat than anybody else. Accept this. It makes things go smoother.
You bought it yet? I saw the old tat and knew somebody on this sleepy by home for old farts would want it.
Sure they supported The Triffids at UCL but I was so out of it I can’t remember
Any thoughts about these valves in a phono?
Haha, I’ve no idea and thought I’d get the opinions of the experts!
There’s no indication of how the KT88’s being used. In a phono stage there’s commonly a passive frequency correction network (either in line or in a feedback loop) with a number of voltage gain stages to make up for the very low output voltage from the cart and the voltage losses in the passive network. The final stage might be configured as a cathode follower to allow the unit to drive long cables and/or difficult power amp loads.
Power valves like the KT88 don’t have a lot of voltage gain. They can have a good deal of power gain, so again can drive cables/low-Z loads, but there’s rarely much need for that.
