As part of a long discussion on another forum about what repairers/restorers should and shouldn’t do when it comes to equipment safety (exec summary - it’s a bit of a nightmare) someone posted a scan from the manual for a DIY TV kit released in 1939. I confess I smiled when they said their product was safer than standing in the bathtub and putting your fingers in the light socket.
