I’m banging the same old Tympanik drum here, but i only recently got round to a proper listening to the Accretion compilation that was released for the label’s 5th anniversary in 2012. Probably that was due to it being 42 tracks and was therefore digital only, with no CD release. It’s only artists that were signed to the label, rather than the Emerging Organisms which had offerings from other label bands. But this is mindblowingly good, better than any EO; the first half dozen tracks are breathtaking, with all the tracks being grouped together by style. Also worth noting that the whole Tympanik catalogue is pay what you want on Bandcamp, which is a travesty.

Some of you more electro-minded meatmen might have heard of this guy but I hadn’t.

This is quite the revelation for me - I fucking love twitter for this type of stuff

Interesting - did you buy the albums from Bandcamp?

No Juno Records have it

Sorry for the thread resssurection but I think it’s worth it for this brilliant video and jealous of those kids getting such a great history/music lesson.

Recommended if you’re into more deep house kinda stuff. If you’re into Konduku, Pantha du Prince and kiasmos, you’d probably like this

Check this bad boy out - The Trautonium invented early 1930s :star_struck:

I’m trying to think of a close contemporary parallel, but the truth is that so much current music owes a debt to this that it’s impossible to point at a single act, sound, genre.

I can’t believe Stereolab et al haven’'t used this - what a sound.

Unfortunately I’m also reminded of the once - ubiquitous Stylophone :grimacing:

It’s a tiny bit more interesting than that surely Guy :grinning:
