I am trying to fit an outdoor waterproof socket. I will just drill through and poke some twin and earth through the wall and plug into a socket in the kitchen. The thing that is puzzling me is the two earth terminals on the socket Help
If you’re going to plug into the kitchen socket then I think that technically the cable should be flex rather than twin and earth. But a proper leccy might be along to correct me on that (or just to say you shouldn’t be plugging it in at all).
VB
It is, twin and earth flex
Both will be connected together
As above…doesn’t matter
Looks beyond your skillset - I think you should stick to fettling cartridges…
So just run a cable between the two of them?
Isn’t that a big metal strap already connecting them together?
Fucking builders.

We had the same double socket fitted to the outside of our garage last year.
I paid a spark to do it…
I would have thought the extra earth tag would be for an earth from a metal back box if one was being used
You know when the job is done professionally for outside electrical applications
Drill the hole through the wall at a slight angle downwards towards the outside for better weathering and seal the hole around the cable with a little silicone caulking as it emerges from the wall. Not too deep though in case you ever want to remove it.
The extra early terminal is for use in a ring circuit or for a fly lead to a metal back box.
Are you fitting a plug the other end so as to make it an extension lead?
Thanks P. Yes a plug on the other end. The box is plastic.
The hole is sloping down at around 40 degrees Jim, I managed to burn my drill out drilling it So just bought myself a new 1500w SDS fucker, tool budget fuct.
Not just cartridges then?
