That with innovative training methods and tactics he was transforming Manchester City and the Premier League into the new powerhouse of world football. Headlines such as âGive them the trophy nowâ, âPep, artist & visionaryâ and âNavas the worldbeaterâ may have lent weight to ideas of a glorious serene procession to the title and European Cup success. We now concede that such predictions were hopelessly premature, that Guardiola doesnât have a magic wand and in fact is finding life in a league with more than one competing team a little more challenging. Again, we apologise for any confusion caused.
