Money certainly doesn’t buy you friends, but you do get a better class of enemy.
Reality is that money is an indicator of success in most areas of life.
Given that he’s selling some, but not all, of his stake, that would suggest to me some degree of having an objective for that money, rather than just wanting to pad a bank balance. If he were concerned about the future value of the team, I suspect he’d be selling more (although if he were to sell the lot that would raise some alarm bells unless he was quitting the team).
