I don’t really want to do this, but it is fucking ridicuous sitting on no less than four pairs of speakers, none of which I can even reliably lift at the mo’…
So up for sale are these large and very wonderful three-way loudspeakers.
Their presentation is on the warmer side of neutral, and they will easily go down to 20Hz in-room thanks to 15" bass drivers plus downward firing ports. The port arrangement means they will integrate well into remarkably small rooms, as well as being capable of driving massive spaces effortlessly.
They can be driven by almost any amp of quality, from 20WPC upwards - I preferred them with upwards of 35WPC, but the best sound I ever had from them was from a pair of 20WPC 845 valve monos. They also sound amazing with 400WPC up 'em - so long as it’s quality.
They are in excellent unmolested condition - no marks or damage anywhere. I have the original boxes, packaging and all original accessories and paperwork.
They are brutally heavy - 75kg each naked, nearly 90kg each boxed. This means at least two, strong, fit young(ish) men are needed to manhandle them if (e.g.) they need to go upstairs. One clapped-out old tosser (e.g. me) can only walk them around the room swinging them from foot-to-foot. This means that unless you have the requisite bodybuilders to hand, transport has to involve a tail-lift vehicle and a sack-truck.
They were £10,000 new, and a bargain at that. I’m looking for£5,000£4,500 ONO. Offers will be looked on very much more favourably if you are willing to organise their collection and transport.
Yep, these are indeed stunning looking & sounding speakers.
Had the Zweiklangs and wanted MORE of the same superb sound so now have the ex OMSOCs Dreiklangs, fed by a 28wpc MasterSounD 845 Compact. I want for nothing more soundwise, they’ve nipped my upgraditis in the bud, 9 months and counting.
