Georg Jensen thingmy

I found this Georg Jensen utensil lurking at the back of a drawer. I remember buying it about 30 years ago but now I’ve no idea what it does or what it is for. The hook is sharp. Any ideas?

Probably a tin opener. The danish have loads of variations of them.

Thanks. I’m having a tin of soup tonight. I’ll have a go at the tin with this and see how I get on.

looks more like a bottle opener

Yap.

I have an Alessi one. It’s remarkably effective and useful.

Psychologists would have a field day on this site. There’s barely a thread that doesn’t eventually produce butt plug and/or dildo references. :grinning:

All the better to tantalize you with sweetie…

'cause no-one can be arsed here…

I tried and it is not a tin opener. The hook is too short to go over the lip of the tin and pierce the tin lid.

It’s an orange peeler as above.

I knew it was a hand held tool with a hook but having had a closer look it’s not the sort of blade that would be sharp enough for cans. My danish relatives have a load of can openers and bits but this is 100% for oranges.
Similar thing but for more delicate tasks!
