Thanks @Gyroscope
Some guys who I’ve never heard of have dropped out of Desertfest and have been replaced by
Nice! I love a free upgrade.
Sounds like the Drill Sergeant you get sent too for a cockpunch.
Booked for the Ancient Infinity Orchestra at the Lescar on May 13th
Fuck. That’s not helping matters. They are playing Manchester on Friday, but that’s also the day my brother and I get the keys to our new house rental…
Priorities come first obviously but, even if it’s a slim chance, take it ![]()
Tonight was Northern Resonance at Bishop’s House. They are Swedish, playing Hardanger fiddles, violas d’amore and 12-string guitar. Photo is from tune up before 2nd half - with 52 strings between them in a small, packed room there was a fair amount of tuning.
Bandcamp link is to their last lineup, with nyckelharpa instead of guitar.
Only 6 strings tonight, on Martin Simpson’s Taran. A cosy unmiked gig to kick off Fay Hield’s new Wild Traditions concert series.
Now down to 5 strings. Had a quick chat with Jeff Warner after his performance and realised that I had last seen him on Long Island in the late 70s. Didn’t realise that he is 83 until a Google search this morning.
Jealous not just for the band
Emmylou Harris tonight
They were good but The Palladium will never be the same for me after the Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings gig last year. That concert will live with me for a very long time.
Just booked tickets to see Little Barrie in Manchester in September. Quite excited.
