So I thought I’d go book a GT3 race. Apparently they’re going hybrid from next season, so I figure it’s my last chance to experience a decently loud fast race (F1 is unlikely to happen).
It seems there are a number of series though. E.g. Brands Hatch have these two in May:
And then Silverstone has a third!
Are they all basically the same, or is one considered the primary GT3 competition? Google isn’t really giving me much.
I think the first one is a series I’ve worked races for in Europe for some of the GT4 teams that were supporting. The lineup on that one looks good; the McLaren series running the same weekend should be good.
The second Brands Hatch one is very light on detail, which almost makes it look like it’s just the GT3 race and no support races. That’s not likely to be as exciting if it’s just one series.
Silverstone event looks on a par with the first BH weekend, although you have the added fun of some open wheel racing the support races, which has more drama potential.
Thanks. Think I’ll do the Silverstone one seeing as it’s also easier for me to get to, I know my way round the site, and they have an open paddock, which my boys would love (maybe BH has also but they don’t say).
