Hand Egg Ball(ocks)

There was no down side to going for the field goal and it puts a weaker Steelers team into the playoff mix

Shooting for the win also meant trying to set up a game against the Bengals rather than the Chiefs so there was all the incentive that Carr needed to make that choice!

We haven’t met them in them since ‘94, but San Fran.-Dallas is one of the great playoff rivalries. Fond memories of some past matchups and I’m really looking forward to this :slightly_smiling_face:

Absolutely,
If Carr had clocked the game the outcry would have been huge. It reminds me of when Trevor Chappel bowled underarm to NZ in the last ball of the game to make sure NZ had no chance of scoring a six and tieing the game. That lead to questions in both the Aus and NZ parliaments and a change to the laws of Cricket to stop it happening again.
That happened 40 years ago and people still talk about it.
The Raiders did exactly the right thing, they let the result be decided by the normal flow of the game and didn’t try and fix the outcome.

Dwight Clark makes “The Catch” to defeat the Cowboys in the ‘82 NFC Championship. Still one of the most storied moments in NFL history.
Magic.

I am sure there are loads of these type of articles

Ok

If Buffalo get to the SB then they win, but they won’t as the Chiefs or Titans will beat them. But then, neither of those teams will beat the NFC winners unless the Cardinals get there, which they won’t.

I just can’t see it not being won by the Bucs or the Packers. Whoever wins the game between them wine overall. NFC FTW.

Raiders-Bengals - Bengals

Bills-Patriots - Bills

Steelers-Chiefs - Chiefs

Cardinals-Rams - Cards

49ers-Cowboys - Niners

Eagles-Buccaneers - Bucs

Cardinals-Rams was a tough call, but I think the Cards are going to snap out of their funk and pull that one off

I can’t really see the Cardinals winning, the Rams have shown that they are really good some of the time, which I’d expect is enough. The Cardinals were good at the start of the season, but that’s a long time ago.

And while I’d like the 49ers to win, I’d be surprised. I hate Dallas, but they’re good this year.

Patriots Bills is the kind of match up where everyone wants them both to lose?

Niners running game and pass rush will see the Cowboys off.
Rams and Cardinals have both been inconsistent, that’s what made it tough. I’d like to see the Rams win because the Niners have had their number over the last couple of seasons. The Cards call is just a gut instinct

Some of these could change, this is all assuming none of these teams get hit by Omicron

Yeah the COVID situation and other injuries have had a big impact so far this season

That’s how I’d call it. I expect to see a couple of surprise results, even without Covid.

Raiders might upset the Bengals, but their only reward would be a hiding in the next round

I have little hope, I think getting to the post season has been the achievement for Raiders given the season they’ve had off the field.

I was surprised at the season they had, Pittsburgh too. Didn’t think either of them would make the playoffs.
The Niners season was a surprise for me in a bad way, didn’t imagine going into the season they would need to win in week 18 just to squeak in. But they did have to win 7 of their last 9 games to make it in so they’re coming in hot :slightly_smiling_face:

How teams manage their injuries list will be important.
Henry back for the Titans could be huge. Jimmy G’s thumb could make or break the 49ers hopes, keeping Covid out of the camps will also be a factor.

I found the Google sheet I did last year

Any updates anyone? Anyone want to join in?

This is fun.
Why all the teams are flawed.
