Haters gonna hate - SL1200GR

I’m not jealous at all, not one bit.

There’s no added fun that’s for sure.

Nice one Graham, be good to hear it sometime.

Looks great, that little alignment tool is genius.

The Graham Phantom comes with a very similar alignment jig.

Gp jig jig 2

The motor is very interesting

Nice!

SP10 mk2 with Jelco "12 and newly installed PTGii here for comparison purposes…

Sth Bucks, end of Met line. You can’t be to far from me if you made it to Jim’s bbq?

How’s it sounding, G?

Like a machine. The platter turns and precise music appears…Adequacy in motion.

Those who aren’t keen on SP10s or previous generations of 1200s are not going to be overly impressed, basicly the family sound has been tweaked to eek out a bit more sterility and smoothness.

Its not as good as an SP10 but certainty closer than the older stock 1200s. The arm is what it is, cheap, light aluminum tube but with mega smooth bearings, never really know what affect the arm is having unless its swapped and that isn’t happening.

But wevs…I’m pleased, i like using it, i like the sound and it looks cool.

Just crack on now buying records.

I have lately been gawping at the 1200G, the flash version, which can be had for £2500 minus cartridge. I was very close to just taking the plunge and spunking the cash to be honest. I managed to restrain the impulse, for the time being. It would be nice to get a home demo though

My current arrangements are:

Analogue Works TT1
Audio Mods IV micrometer arm
Nagaoka MP500 cart
Puresound Tenuto Mat

Jolida JD2 II modded phono stage

I wonder how they would compare
