Hello

I’ll sell it in 10g pots like caviar at £20 a pop

This. It is a slippery slope from pie, chips and mushy peas to the antipodean abomination that is the pie floater. Don’t listen to @MGOwner about the glorious mixture of pie and peas. Here, a flamethrower and machete is the appropriate toolset. Kill it with fire and hoy into the ashes with the machete.

I can’t believe how ignorant you all are to how chip shop food is meant to be eaten. I shake my head at how high and mighty some of you are about which condiments do and don’t go with pies.

The pukka pie is a condiment meant for dipping a battered sausage into.

Your chip shop game is fucking abysmal, frankly.

That took 17 minutes longer than expected. Were you eating?

Curry sauce of any type belongs in a curry.

I have no more to say on this.

Mmmm deep fried pukka pie.

Cooked in the hot fat of course to make the pastry crunchy - another great northern delicacy :+1:

Hoy?

I see we’re deviating from English now!

When I was a kid, our local chippy made their own delicious pies from scratch - steak and chicken&mushroom. They were large circular pie tins and they’d cut you a slice. Never seen anywhere since that did that.

Indeed, they are Satan’s snot.

They did have flaky pastry tops, but there the resemblence ended.

Delicious with chip shop curry sauce.

Graeme is a scientist and hence correct on this.

If your fish have come up from whatever is below the surface layer of unmentionable stuff under the Galata bridge then it’s possible that mushy peas might complement them. In fact, come to think of it, that surface layer is mushy and greenish in places …
