Anyone contemplating going? I quite fancy a couple of days in Vienna and the flight prices look decent, way better than what I was quoted for Munich last year at £150 return with Austrian airlines from Heathrow.
Its been 12 years 
years since a load of us did Munich back in the Wam days.
Thinking about it.
(almost) definitely not by train. I used to visit a friend there way back when, but that was a three day trek IIRC.
Although that was probably pre-Eurostar. Those ferries were awful 
Trying to tie it in with a work trip as our main supplier is in Vienna.
I normally use Wizz Air for Vienna flights.

I suspect that the 4th is trade only day so Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun. I’m up for a 2 night stopover if the hotel rates are ok.
Hoping to get to this one, it’s been far too long since I did Munich. Decent chance I get to go as trade as well (I think I managed to wangle it the last time I went as the owner of this place )

In Munich it was trade on Thurs & Fri, and public on Sat & Sun, I would expect it to be the same in Vienna
I may be visiting to check out the new venue, at least Vienna is a nice city
I always wanted to get to Munich to hear the silbatone room with the western electric stuff.
If that’s displaying in Vienna I should really try and get there.

Yes you should, it is an astonishing experience and shows how little we have advanced in sound reproduction in the last 75 years or so.
No you shouldn’t, if you want to enjoy your home system again then ignorance is bliss!
I had very mixed feelings about the Silbatone room the year I went. When I first went in, they were playing a string quartet, or something akin, and it sounded quite lovely. Went back at a later point, and they were playing Led Zeppelin, and it was an absolutely horrific, shouty mess of a sound.
