Site of the only US invasion of the UK, slightly hindered as the Yanky sailors decided to get a bit pissed in one of the local pubs:). The Capatain, John Paul Jones, went on to become an Admiral in the Imperial Russian Navy, being forced to leave that as it turned out he was a bit of a nonce and child rapist. The Yanks were forgiven about 20 years ago for their cheeky attack and there is now a consulate to the USN in the town.
Claire has just set off to take FoL#1 Ellie to Heathrow for her month in Tokyo. She’s staying with her boyfriend and his mum, so she’s been told in no uncertain terms not to embarrass herself/us, and to make the most of this fantastic opportunity and not lie in bed til 3 in the afternoon.
Also gave her a list of R2R tapes to look out for and instructions to return with a decent bottle of Japanese whisky.
Bit worried because she has quite a lot of visible ink, not sure how it’ll go down over there.

Although she will struggle to visit public onsen and baths, she shouldn’t have much issue with visible ink elsewhere. They see a lot with international sports stars and artists.

Good job she can buy new ones tax free at Heathrow or Bic Camera in Tokyo. 
The later would be the best option price wise.

Tourists have been arrested for swearing, shouting, rude gestures, public affection etc.
The only tourist things to do are behave yourself and spend money on modern invented attractions.
