My Dad was diagnosed with PC >15 years ago and he’s still going strong at 88.

Sorry to hear about your news. But it really beggars the question why the very simple blood tests are not carried out as a standard thing for those, say, over 50. I guess the answer is that the NHS is fucked and short-funded. And why there are so many ads on the telly for ‘wellbeing’ tests

I agree. I would have thought all men would be offered a test every five years from say 50 especially when it is such a common cancer. Especially when women get offered breast and cervical cancer tests from the age of 50 every 2 years.

A bit harsh. There is nothing stopping anyone going to their GP and asking for a test. Don’t wait for symptoms just do it.

I had to go privately in the end - our local GP practice is like trying to break in to the fucking Kremlin…
Mind, it was worth every penny to have a nice posh lady doctor stick her fingers up my arse 
Costs me nearly as much for the same service at the Spalding branch of ‘Strictly Cum Spanking’, and I’m pretty sure ‘Vasilia’ isn’t even a real doctor…
