I have no polite words at this point. Will appeal however.

With regards to passenger complaints- I’ve recieved three in 22 years of ‘service’.

None were upheld. I’ve worked around Catford; Lewisham; Sydenham and these were extremely challenging areas to work- I had to call the Police out on a couple of occasions.

I have learned to keep myself to myself re: passengers. Questions about destination; times; diversions- cool.

Fares- evasion- that’s for Revenue Protection Officials.

I learned not to intervene when I got spat on.

No, the bit that stinks is the complete lack of regard shown to Drivers- the harassment; victimisation and bullying.

My lot have been trying to sack me since I campaigned successfully for a place to rest and eat meals. For almost eight years.

I shan’t be handing them what they want on a plate.

I’m a very patient man.

play their game, log and escalate every H&S issue, involve the union now as they will likely try to avoid when/after you are sacked.

Just be a really annoying cunt until they try to force you out and then do them for constructive dismissal.

Just take care of yourself and don’t let them, the situation, or their ‘stacked against you’ processes get you down.

In less than 12 months all of this will be in the past and an irrelevance anyway.

6 months on full pay, then phased return over 4-8 weeks, then take as much of your accrued leave in as short a period as possible and there’s your year done and dusted.

Then you can get started on your future career of researching beers for us.

On top of all the other shite, this. Have had a sense of humour failure. Will be going out to a distant supermarket to get water. Not just for me- can’t help everyone though.

Appeal was successful.

I wrote the Appeal Letter myself and knew there was no cogent argument against the points raised:

I do not accept the findings for the following reasons:

  1. I reported an incident where I was verbally assaulted and threatened by a passenger on the 30th of August 2025.

  2. When the Fact Finding Investigation papers were recieved the title was ‘behaviour and failure to pick up passenger’

  3. The Officials Report was not factual; it contains accusations and is unfairly weighted against me.

  4. It is suggested in the Grievance Outcome letter that I should “…ensure that all relevant details are included in occurrence reports…”

This leads me back to point 1 above. It is difficult to see how I could have been more clear in reporting what happened.

The length of time taken to look into all of this concerns me as does the lack of support.

So yeah… feel fucking knackered now. This shit has been going on since 2018!
