Interesting Speakers

These look familiar…

Andy, what is the scientific theory behind the placement of the drivers?

Honestly don’t know, Other that some panels had a 4" hole for a smoke detector. -That’s why the middle is not populated.

I kept the pattern in my design 1/ I was able to reuse the glass type insulation on the rear that gives some control to the rear radiation 2/ It was a nice talking point.

The Oak bits and CNC panels cost me £200 then re-wiring
So Ebay price not exactly profiteering.

I have been using them all day . They are not annoying at all

The main reason I’m selling - I have bought some similar but bigger panels nine in fact with 6 woofers and 4 tweeters each -Not from a disco -but a church organ. 8 pence more expensive than before inflation again.

That link has made me type my first post ever on PFM - a pedant comment.

I’m assuming - “Very special” and “Still available from what I can see” is PFM radio code

Seems wild to see speakers like that with solid state amps, doubly so to see them with something like Mark Levinson.

Seems wild to see… speakers start on the top floor and end up in the basement

Massive boxes, low ceilings and no room treatment on show. Mmmmmm….

Never seemed to bother Silbatone…

It looks like Kenrick Sound in Japan.

True enough. I was talking from personal experience - it took two years of tweaking to get my Gotos sounding something like good in my low ceiling room.

I’m assuming the Silbatone man knows his kit so intimately well that he can sort things a bit quicker when he’s allocated a room at a show or whatever. :+1:

JBL Ampex Model 5050

Never heard of them but on ebay for the princely (or Mountbatten-Windsor) sum of £22,000

Nice design for PA or home listening (if you sit on the ceiling).
